hi,

I have a question, I have a new machine (I5) running Win 7 home premium 64 bit and decided to try the new diskeeper pro premier 2010.
Right now I am confused about the VSS defragmentation methods, VSS is clearly active on the volumes because it it is part of the back-up/restore functionality built in in Win 7.
IF I enable the special VSS defragmentation method in Diskeeper I-Faast turns itself automatically off.
I would like to test and see the benefits of I-faast without having to turn system restore off.
can I leave the defrag method "standard" (=with I-faast) or do I really have to decide between I-Faast and VSS ?
on the diskeeper instruction I found this:

These options will only affect VSS enabled volumes with a cluster size smaller than 16 KB.

on my volusmes dk says :cluster size 4.096 bytes

I would appreciate a clarification

thanks for the reply,

unfortunately after some more testing I noticed that Diskeeper keeps on purging my restore points even if in VSS mode and with I-Faast off.
It is really unfortunate that Win 7 can´t do sys restore without involving VSS, XP does not have this problem...
well, I think this is a huge issue because even if I tend to maintain a stable OS and might not need sys restore for months the day something goes wrong and you suddently need it is always around the corner..

hope this get sorted out in a future build
